Acne caused by pores that are clogged because of the oil glands are too active. Although many medical experts who denied any connection between acne in the foods we eat, there is no harm in avoiding some foods that can trigger suspected of acne.
Sugar and Chocolate
Chocolate may be one of the best foods trigger acne. Archives of Dermatology published a study which explains that the food has a high Glycemic Index scale, typically in carbohydrates such as sugar can cause acne due to increased hormone levels.
Milk
Some studies show a high milk intake may be associated with the appearance of acne. A Harvard study found that teens who drink milk more than two servings per day tend to suffer more severe acne. This is because of increased growth hormone that causes the sebaceous glands in the skin become clogged.
Iodine
Iodine can be a factor in the emergence of acne, such as skin oil glands which can irritate the skin that is prone to acne. Iodine can be found in fish and shellfish because seawater contains iodine. In addition to other sources from iodized salt which is a component of some types of canned food.
Caffeine and Alcohol
Caffeine is considered to trigger the emergence of acne because it can affect hormone levels produced by the body. Some sources of caffeine are coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate. In addition to caffeine, alcohol also causes an increase of hormones, especially testosterone can cause acne more often.
Food Allergies are Making
Skin problems often arise due to allergies to foods, especially milk and eggs. Acne occurs because the body’s immune system trying to fight a perceived poison. An allergist has diagnosed and confirmed the relationship of food allergies with severe acne.
Fruits and vegetables that are acidic
Some fruits and vegetables that are acidic can cause acne, such as carrots, cucumbers, oranges, and lettuce. Acidity of the body can cause acne, because it should be avoided.
